Structural Engineering for a new 26,800 square foot, 3-story building with an estimated construction budget of $43M. The building is designed to exceed LEED Silver rating. The building has exposed glulam wood framing and highlights the versatility of glulam framing for both primary structural elements and architecturally exposed façade system. Engineered timber framing supports sustainable design goals using renewable building materials and reduced embodied carbon.
The all-electric building’s other sustainable features including triple-glazed windows and deep vertical architectural fins for passive solar shading and glare management; and a functional, landscaped bioretention system (bioswale) to manage campus stormwater and improve local water quality.
